For a web app with log-ins and a database, Lovable and Bolt both build and host the database, sign-in and pages for you, while v0 suits teams that already build in Next.js on Vercel and want changes to go through GitHub branches, preview deployments and pull requests. For a multi-page marketing website, all three can generate one, but each free plan comes with a badge, a traffic cap or a non-commercial hosting rule, and most design changes are paid for in credits or tokens. Every price below was read on the vendor's own pricing page or documentation on October 24, 2026.

What each tool is for

Lovable calls itself a "full-stack AI development platform": you describe an app in chat, and it generates the frontend, backend, database and authentication, then hosts the result.

Bolt (bolt.new) comes from StackBlitz. It builds websites, web apps and, through Expo, mobile apps, with the development environment running inside your browser.

v0 is Vercel's builder. Its documentation lists landing pages, dashboards, ecommerce stores, AI apps and full-stack applications, and it publishes to Vercel.

Lovable in detail

  • Stack. New projects use TanStack Start, which renders each page on the server; it became the default on May 13, 2026. Older React + Vite projects send a mostly empty page, and Lovable serves rendered copies only to verified search engines and preview bots. Upgrading an old project usually costs 10 to 35 credits.
  • Free plan. 5 build credits a day, capped at 30 a month, plus 20 Cloud credits a month for hosting and the backend. You can publish publicly, but the code editor is read-only, ZIP download is off, and the "Edit with Lovable" badge stays.
  • First paid plan. As of October 2026, Pro costs $25 a month for 100 credits, or $250 a year (Lovable pricing). It adds custom domains, badge removal, code editing and download, design systems and credit rollover. On monthly billing, credits expire two months after they are issued.
  • Code and GitHub. Git sync with GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket is on every plan, Free included. Edits flow both ways on one branch at a time, and Lovable always creates a new repository rather than attaching to an existing one.
  • Hosting and domains. Lovable says plans don't cap visitors or bandwidth, except that on Free, apps created since May 13 are limited to 1,000 server requests per project per 10 seconds, and a Free project can be unpublished after 12 months with no visits and no owner log-in. If you move a TanStack Start app elsewhere, the host has to run server code; Lovable's own guide says object storage or a CDN alone won't do.
  • Backend. The built-in backend (Cloud) includes a database, sign-in, file storage and edge functions on Supabase's open-source foundation, paid for in credits.
  • Design control. The preview toolbar lets you click an element and describe a change, type over text directly, or sketch on the page. Element and sketch requests use credits; inline text edits come with 100 per account that each refill 24 hours after use.

Bolt in detail

  • Stack. Bolt works with JavaScript frameworks and Node.js on the server; its docs say PHP and Python backends aren't compatible. Mobile apps are built through Expo.
  • Free plan. 300,000 tokens a day and 1 million a month, unlimited databases and hosting on bolt.host. Published sites carry a "Made in Bolt" badge, and unused tokens don't roll over.
  • First paid plan. As of October 2026, Pro is $25 a month billed monthly, or $18 a month billed yearly ($216 a year) (Bolt pricing). It includes 10 million tokens a month with rollover, your own domain, no Bolt branding, a choice of database provider and "SEO boosting". Its FAQ says most tokens go to syncing your project's files to the AI, so larger projects use more per message.
  • Code and GitHub. Any project downloads as a ZIP. GitHub sync commits each working change and pulls in outside commits every 30 seconds; you can import an existing repository, but branches are merged on GitHub.
  • Hosting and domains. Free hosting stops at 10 GB of bandwidth and 333,333 requests a month, shared across all your sites; Pro raises that to 30 GB and 1 million requests, with pay-as-you-go beyond it (Bolt hosting plans). Netlify is an alternative publishing target.
  • Backend. Bolt Database is built in, with tables, email and Google sign-in, file storage and server functions. Pro and Teams can use Supabase instead.
  • Design control. The Select tool changes text, colors, font size, formatting and alignment in the preview. Edits cost nothing until you save the batch, which then uses tokens.

v0 in detail

  • Stack. v0 defaults to Next.js and says it "provides the most reliable results". Its FAQ lists Next.js, React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS and shadcn/ui.
  • Free plan. 7 messages a day, Design Mode and GitHub sync. New users get $5 in one-time credits that don't renew.
  • First paid plan. As of October 2026, Plus is $30 per user a month, shown reduced from $90, with $30 of monthly credits per user and $2 of daily credits on login (v0 pricing). The older $20 Premium plan is closed to new users. Unused monthly credits roll over and expire after 65 days.
  • Code and GitHub. v0 pushes each change to a working branch with its own preview deployment, then publishes by merging a pull request; Pull Changes brings in work from the base branch (v0 GitHub docs). The FAQ calls the integration bi-directional and says you can export the code to work locally.
  • Hosting and domains. Publishing deploys to a Vercel project with a vercel.app address, and you add your own domain through Vercel. Vercel's Hobby plan "restricts users to non-commercial, personal use only"; its Pro plan has a $20 monthly platform fee.
  • Backend. Databases come from one-click Vercel Marketplace integrations: Supabase, Neon, Upstash or Vercel Blob, each of which provisions an account on that service. Backend endpoints are written with Next.js App Router conventions.
  • Design control. Design Mode adjusts typography, colors, margin and padding, borders, opacity, corner radius and shadows on a selected element, with Tailwind-compatible values when your app uses Tailwind CSS. Applying the edits produces a new version of the code.

Which one for a web app with log-ins and data

  • Lovable if you want one credit balance to cover building, hosting and the backend, with GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket sync even on Free. A database and sign-in are added when you ask for them.
  • Bolt if you want to pick your framework, want unlimited databases on the free plan, or plan a mobile app through Expo. Keep an eye on token use as the project grows.
  • v0 if your team already works in Next.js on Vercel and wants changes to go through branches, preview deployments and pull requests with CI checks. You assemble the backend from Marketplace services, so you'll hold an account with each provider.

Which one for a multi-page marketing website

All three can produce one: Bolt's intro lists landing pages and corporate websites, v0 lists landing pages, and Lovable builds websites as well as apps. What a marketing site needs is less about code: your own domain without someone else's badge, hosting that stays up, cheap copy changes, and files you can put on any host.

What each gets wrong for marketing sites

These limits come from the vendors' own pages:

  • Lovable. A custom domain and badge removal need Pro. A Free site can be unpublished after 12 months without visits or an owner log-in. A new project needs a host that runs server code if you leave, such as Vercel, Netlify or Cloudflare Pages, rather than plain file hosting. Older React + Vite projects show rendered pages only to verified crawlers, so third-party SEO scanners may report them as empty, although Lovable says Google sees the full content.
  • Bolt. The free plan shows the "Made in Bolt" badge, has no custom domain, and takes your site offline for the rest of the month once you pass 10 GB or 333,333 requests. "SEO Boost for Published Sites" appears only on paid plans. Bolt says larger projects use more tokens per message, so each edit costs more as a site grows.
  • v0. The free plan allows 7 messages a day. Publishing goes to Vercel, where the free Hobby tier is for non-commercial use, so a company site adds a Vercel plan on top of v0. Storing contact-form entries in a database means adding an integration such as Supabase or Neon from the Vercel Marketplace, which provisions an account with that provider.

A website-first alternative

A website-first builder starts from pages instead of an app. FNJ's AI website builder is one example. It designs business sites, portfolios, landing pages and product marketing sites from your description plus references (screenshots, links or your brand files), on a canvas where the desktop, tablet and phone layouts are designed together, and you edit by prompt or by hand. You get a Next.js App Router project or static HTML, downloaded or pushed to a branch of your own GitHub repository, with no FNJ runtime in the code.

Its limits are just as real. FNJ does not build forms, stores, log-ins, databases or a blog engine, so a contact form means linking to a separate form tool. FNJ does not host the site either: static HTML goes on any static host such as Cloudflare Pages, and the Next.js project on Vercel, Netlify or a Node server. Your first build, one prompt for up to 4 pages, costs nothing; editing it afterwards and downloading the code need a paid plan.

Frequently asked questions

Is Lovable better than Bolt?

Both build and host a database and sign-in for you. Lovable puts building, hosting and the backend on one credit balance and syncs with GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket on every plan, Free included. Bolt suits you better if you want to choose your framework, build a mobile app through Expo, start from an existing GitHub repository, or download your code as a ZIP, which Bolt's docs don't reserve for paid plans. Both Pro plans cost $25 a month on monthly billing as of October 2026.

Lovable vs v0: which is better?

v0 fits developers already on Next.js and Vercel: changes go through branches, preview deployments and pull requests, and you bring your own database through the Vercel Marketplace. Lovable fits people who want the database, sign-in and hosting managed for them. As of October 2026, v0 Plus is $30 per user a month and Lovable Pro is $25 a month.

Can I export my code from Lovable, Bolt and v0?

Yes, with different rules. Lovable syncs with GitHub on every plan but limits ZIP download to paid plans. Bolt offers a ZIP download and two-way GitHub sync. v0 syncs both ways with GitHub on its free plan and says you can export the code to work locally.

Which is cheapest for a small business website?

All three can publish on a free plan, on a lovable.app, bolt.host or vercel.app address. Your own domain without the vendor's badge costs $25 a month on Lovable Pro or Bolt Pro billed monthly, or $250 a year on Lovable and $216 a year on Bolt billed yearly, as of October 2026. v0 attaches domains through Vercel, but Vercel's Hobby tier is for non-commercial use, so a business site needs a paid Vercel plan; Vercel Pro's platform fee is $20 a month.
