FNJ Chrome Extension Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 16, 2026
The short version: the extension looks at a page only when you click it, keeps what it sees in your browser’s memory, and sends it to FNJ only if you start building a site with it.
1. What the extension does
The FNJ extension has two jobs. “Build a site like this” opens FNJ’s AI website builder with the page you are on attached as a design reference. On a site built with Framer, “Convert to Next.js” opens FNJ’s converter with that site’s address filled in.
2. What it reads, and when
Only when you click the FNJ button in the toolbar, or choose “Build a site like this with FNJ” from the right-click menu, and only on that tab, the extension reads:
- a screenshot of the part of the page that is visible on your screen;
- the page’s address (URL) and title;
- whether the page was built with Framer, from the page’s own markup.
It does not run on the websites you visit in the background, read pages you have not clicked it on, record your browsing history, or read form fields, passwords, cookies or other tabs.
Chrome does not let it read Chrome’s own pages (settings, new tab, the Chrome Web Store), so it does nothing there.
3. Where that information goes
The screenshot, address, title and anything you type in the extension are kept in your browser’s memory (Chrome’s session storage for extensions). They are not saved to disk, not synced, and are cleared when Chrome closes.
When you choose “Build a site like this”, the extension opens framertonextjs.com/build and hands them to that page, in your browser. The extension then deletes its copy. If the builder page does not open within 60 minutes, the extension deletes it anyway.
The builder’s address ends in utm_source=chrome-extension, which tells FNJ’s website that the visit came from the extension. That, and how the website counts visits, is described in FNJ’s Privacy Policy at framertonextjs.com/privacy.
They reach FNJ’s servers only if you then start building a site with them. They are then used like any screenshot or link you add to the builder yourself: together with your description, to design your site. FNJ’s AI builder sends them to its AI model provider to do that. Your use of the builder is covered by FNJ’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
“Convert to Next.js” sends only the site’s address to FNJ’s converter page.
4. What it never does
- No analytics, tracking or advertising in the extension.
- No selling or sharing of data with third parties, other than the AI processing described above when you choose to build.
- No use of data for anything unrelated to these two jobs, and none for creditworthiness or lending.
- No remote code: everything the extension runs ships inside it.
5. Permissions it asks Chrome for
- activeTab: to read and screenshot the tab you clicked it on, at that moment only.
- scripting: to check that tab for Framer, at the same moment.
- contextMenus: for “Build a site like this with FNJ” in the right-click menu.
- storage: to hold the screenshot and link in memory until the builder page takes them.
- Access to framertonextjs.com/build: so it can hand them to FNJ’s builder page.
6. Your choices
Turn off “Attach the page link” in the extension to send only the screenshot. You can remove any reference in the builder before you start. Removing the extension deletes everything it holds.
