Sell Your Website Templates
List a website template on the FNJ Marketplace for $0. Sell it through your own checkout and keep 98% — FNJ bills a 2% fee monthly, never upfront — or list it free and earn 50% of what the customers it brings pay FNJ, for 12 months. Buyers get a complete copy of your site to edit visually and host anywhere, with no Framer plan.
The short answer
FNJ charges creators 2% of paid-template sales, billed on the 1st of each month — nothing to list and nothing upfront. You set the price, from $1 to $999, and sell through your own checkout, so you keep 98% of every sale before your payment provider's fee. Free templates pay the other way: they earn you 50% of every subscription payment from the customers they bring FNJ, for 12 months.
Framer's marketplace charges no fee, but a Framer template only works inside Framer. An FNJ template is a finished site the buyer owns: they remix it into FNJ, edit it visually, and deploy it to their own host or download the code. That opens your design to buyers who don't want a website-builder subscription — and ThemeForest and Creative Market, the big marketplaces that do reach them, take half of a sale by default.
Terms as of September 14, 2026. The marketplace opens soon: listings open at launch, and you can get your template into FNJ today so it's ready.
How selling works
- 1Get the site into FNJ
Drop the project folder into FNJ's visual editor, or convert the template's published site — a .framer.website address works. Importing a folder is free with an account; converting needs a plan, from $15 a month.
- 2Generate its remix link
In the submission form, pick the site. FNJ creates its remix link: the link that copies the whole site — pages, images and CMS content — into another account.
- 3Write the listing
A name, a one-line byline, a category, a description, 4 screenshots and a link to the live preview. Tag what it includes, from CMS and forms to localization, and agree to the creator policy.
- 4Choose free or paid
Free: the listing's Remix button uses your link, and every new customer it brings FNJ earns you 50% for 12 months. Paid: $1 to $999 through your own checkout; you send buyers the remix link after they pay, and FNJ bills 2% of those sales monthly.
- 5Pass review
FNJ reviews every listing before it goes live, usually within a few days. If something needs changing, the reviewer says what; edit it and resubmit.
Two ways to earn
Free templates earn 50%
- · Anyone who remixes it and has never paid FNJ becomes your customer
- · When they subscribe, you earn 50% of every payment for 12 months
- · Held 30 days, paid once you're owed $50.00
- · First template, partner link or handoff to bring someone in keeps them
Paid templates keep 98%
- · Your price, $1 to $999, through your own checkout
- · FNJ bills 2% of last month's sales on the 1st of each month
- · 14 days to pay; under $5.00 rolls into next month
- · A sale is each account that remixes it through your link
If a bill goes unpaid past its due date — after a reminder 3 days before — your templates are hidden from the marketplace until it's paid. Nothing is deleted, buyers who already have your link can still use it, and paying brings everything back at once.
Where to sell website templates
What each marketplace takes from a $49 template, and what the buyer ends up with.
| Where | Fee | You keep of $49 | Who takes the payment | What the buyer gets |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| FNJ Marketplace | 2% of paid sales, billed monthly | $48.02 | Your own checkout | A site in their FNJ account, to host anywhere or download as code |
| Framer Marketplace | 0% | $49.00 | Your own checkout | A Framer project, which runs on Framer |
| Gumroad, your own link | 10% + $0.50 | $43.60 | Gumroad | Whatever you deliver, usually a download |
| Gumroad Discover | 30% | $34.30 | Gumroad | Whatever you deliver, usually a download |
| Creative Market | 50% by default | $24.50 | Creative Market | Files to download |
| ThemeForest (Envato) | 50% author fee | $24.50 | Envato | Files to download |
Fees as each platform publishes them, September 2026, before payment processing. Creative Market covers card processing; Envato adds its buyer fee on top of the price and moved to a single 50% author fee in July 2026. On FNJ and Framer your checkout provider's fee applies.
Selling Framer templates on FNJ
Framer templates sell to people who will pay for Framer. The same design, converted into FNJ, reaches people who won't: businesses that want a site they own, agencies handing sites to clients, and anyone who needs the code. Convert the template's published site — its .framer.website preview works — and list it.
It's listed as an FNJ template, not a Framer one: buyers remix it into FNJ rather than opening it in Framer. Only list a design you have the rights to sell, and read your other marketplaces' terms if you sell it there too.
Listing requirements
What the submission form checks before a listing can go to review.
The site
- · A site in your own account — a remix link from someone else's account is refused
- · Not imported from a private Framer project through a Framer connection
- · A live preview link, usually your deployed copy
- · Only a design you have the rights to sell
The listing
- · A name up to 60 characters and a byline up to 120
- · A creator name — a person or studio, never an email
- · A description of 80 to 5,000 characters
- · Exactly 4 different images, uploaded rather than linked; 1600 × 1200 looks best
Each template goes in one of 10 categories — Portfolio, Software, Agency, Ecommerce, Services, Health, Publishing, Real Estate, Hospitality, Events — with an optional subcategory. Paid templates need a price from $1 to $999 and an https checkout link. You can have up to five listings waiting for review at once, and every submission agrees to the creator policy.
After you submit
Your dashboard shows each listing as In review, Live or Needs changes. A listing sent back always carries the reviewer's note saying what to fix. Once it's live you can see its views and remixes, edit it — the edit is reviewed while the current version stays up — or unpublish it at any time.
FAQ
How much does FNJ charge to sell templates?
Nothing to list, and nothing upfront. A paid template pays FNJ 2% of its sales, billed on the 1st of each month for the month before, so you keep 98% of each sale before your checkout provider's own fee. A free template costs nothing, and earns you 50% of what the customers it brings pay FNJ for 12 months.
When do I pay the 2% fee?
After you've sold, never before. On the 1st of each month FNJ bills 2% of the previous month's sales, due 14 days later and paid by card. A month that comes to less than $5.00 isn't billed; it rolls into the next month's total. Every sale, bill and payment is listed in your marketplace dashboard.
How does FNJ count sales if buyers pay through my checkout?
FNJ never sees your checkout, so it counts what every buyer does next: remix the template through the link you sent them. Each account that remixes a listed paid template is one sale, at the price listed at that moment. Your own remixes don't count, and a buyer who remixes the same template again isn't a second sale. To give copies away, list the template as free instead.
What happens if I don't pay a bill?
You get a reminder 3 days before it's due. If it's still unpaid after the due date, your templates are hidden from the marketplace and new submissions pause — nothing is deleted, and buyers you've already sent a remix link to can still use it. Pay the bill from your dashboard and everything comes back straight away.
How do free templates earn money?
Anyone who remixes your free template while signed in, and has never paid FNJ before, becomes your customer. When they subscribe, you earn 50% of every payment they make for 12 months. Each commission is held 30 days, FNJ's refund window, and paid out once you're owed $50.00. It's the partner programme's deal, on the same ledger.
Can I sell my Framer templates on FNJ?
Yes, if the design is yours to sell. Convert the template's published site into FNJ and list it. It is sold as an FNJ template: buyers remix it into their FNJ account and can take the finished site anywhere as code, rather than opening it in Framer.
How do buyers get the template after they pay?
Through your checkout. Add your remix link to the product, as its delivery link or in the receipt. The buyer opens it, signs in to FNJ, and a complete copy of the site lands in their account. The remix link is never shown on the listing, and if one leaks you can replace it from your dashboard.
How long does template review take?
Usually a few days. Every new listing, and every edit to a live one, is reviewed before it's public; while an edit is in review the live version stays up. If a listing needs changes, the reviewer's note appears on it in your dashboard, and you can edit and resubmit.
Do buyers need a Framer subscription?
No. Remixing needs only an FNJ account, which is free to create, and no Framer plan is involved at any point. From their account, a buyer can deploy the site to their own host or download it as code.
Where else can I sell website templates, and what do they charge?
On a $49 template: ThemeForest's 50% author fee and Creative Market's default 50% each leave you $24.50; Gumroad takes $5.40 on your own link (10% + $0.50) or $14.70 through Discover (30%); Framer's marketplace takes nothing and FNJ takes $0.98. The difference is what the buyer gets: files to download, a Framer project, or on FNJ a site they edit visually and can take anywhere as code.
What can't be listed?
A site imported from a private Framer project through a Framer connection — convert the published site instead — and anything you don't have the rights to sell: the remix link must come from a site in your own account. FNJ can decline or remove a template that copies someone else's work, misdescribes itself, or whose remix link stops working.
