A developer portfolio, designed for you, with the code handed back
Most developers can build a portfolio; few want to spend three weekends designing one. Describe your projects and stack, attach a site whose design you like, and FNJ's AI builder designs the portfolio: intro, selected projects, stack, experience and contact. Then export it as a Next.js project or static HTML, push it to your GitHub and treat it like any other repo.
- Next.js project
- Static HTML
- Push to GitHub
- No FNJ runtime
The same sample at phone width. The builder designs every page at desktop, tablet and phone widths.
The sample, section by section
What a developer website needs
The sections the builder can design for you, and the job each one does. The starter prompt asks for these; add or drop any of them in your own words.
- 01
Intro
Who you are, what you build, where you're based.
- 02
Selected projects
Cards with stack tags, repo and demo links.
- 03
Stack
Languages, frameworks and tools you're fluent in.
- 04
Experience
Roles, teams and what you shipped.
- 05
Writing or talks
Links to posts and talks, if you have them.
- 06
Contact
Email, GitHub and LinkedIn.
Made for developers, not for everyone
01
Design done, code yours
A designed, responsive site you then own as a normal Next.js project, with no builder runtime or lock-in.
02
Straight to GitHub
Push the exported project to your own repository and deploy it on Vercel, Netlify or Cloudflare Pages like anything else you ship.
03
Projects as the centrepiece
Cards with the problem, the stack and links to the repo and the live demo, which is what reviewers click.
Starter prompt
A prompt written for developers
It opens in the builder ready to edit. Replace the words in brackets with your own details, change anything else you like, then add a reference.
Reference to add
A developer's personal site whose clean layout you like, or a developer-tool homepage with the feel you want.
The builder takes a reference's look (layout, type, palette, spacing), never its words or images.
Build a polished software developer portfolio for [your name], a developer who works mainly with [your stack]. Open with a compelling one-line introduction. Add a 'Selected projects' section with four project cards (name, one-sentence description, tech stack tags, GitHub and live demo buttons), a technology stack section, an experience section with my last three roles, and a contact section with my email, GitHub and LinkedIn. Clean and distinctive: readable typography, a monospace accent font for labels, responsive project cards and a dark theme.
How it works
01
Describe your developer site
Open the builder with the starter prompt, fill in your details and add a screenshot or link of a site you'd like yours to look like. A reference is required: it's what makes the design yours rather than a template.
02
Watch it design every page
The builder plans the pages, palette and type, then builds each page section by section on a canvas at desktop, tablet and phone widths while you watch.
03
Refine it, then take the code
Ask for changes in plain words or edit by hand, upload your own screenshots, then download a Next.js project or static HTML, or push it to your GitHub, and host it where you like.
What it costs: From $25/month, or $29 once for 50 credits that never expire. No FNJ hosting fee: you host the exported site. See plans
Developers: questions
- Can I edit the code after the AI builds my portfolio?
- Yes. Export a Next.js project or static HTML, or push it to your GitHub, and edit it like any repo. Hand edits to the code don't sync back to the builder's canvas, so pick one place to keep working.
- Does it pull my GitHub repositories automatically?
- No. List the projects you want in your prompt (or edit the cards afterwards); the builder doesn't read your GitHub account.
- Can I show code snippets?
- As text in a monospace font inside a styled block. There's no syntax highlighting, which you can add in the exported code if you need it.
- Where do I host it?
- Anywhere that serves a Next.js app or static files: Vercel, Netlify, Cloudflare Pages, GitHub Pages for the static version, or your own server. FNJ doesn't host it.
- Do I need an AI API key?
- No. FNJ runs the AI for you; you buy builder credits instead of bringing a key.
