Yes, partly. Weebly's site editor has an Archive setting that emails you a link to a ZIP copy of your site, but Weebly says blog and store pages aren't in it and the file can't be imported back into Weebly. Products, orders, form entries and mailing-list contacts each have their own export while Weebly documents none for blog posts or member accounts, so leaving Weebly means collecting those files, then rebuilding, saving the live pages as static HTML, or importing into WordPress.
Where Weebly's help lives now
Weebly has been part of Square since 2018. Its help center still runs at weebly.com/app/help, and Square's Support Center carries a Weebly topic with many of the same articles. Everything below was checked against those two in October 2026, plus Square's community forum where the official articles are silent.
Two official positions frame any move. Weebly's support update, an FAQ dating from 2021, still says it has no plans to discontinue the Weebly site builder at this time, while encouraging new sites to be built on Square Online. And in 67 countries, Weebly is closing.
If you're a Weebly customer in one of the 67 countries
Weebly's global operations notice cites changes in regulation and a wish to simplify its operations. The list includes Singapore, Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates, South Korea, Turkey, Colombia, Chile, Nigeria and Kenya. The United States, United Kingdom, Canada and Australia are not on it.
| Date | What happens |
|---|---|
| June 29, 2026 | Publishing new pages stops |
| September 27, 2026 | Sites are unpublished |
| December 26, 2026 | Account access ends |
If you signed up with Weebly directly, the notice scheduled your site to be unpublished on September 27. Once a site is offline, nothing that reads its public pages can reach it, including a static HTML capture and the WordPress importer below. If a web host sold you your Weebly site, check that host's dates, because resellers have published later ones: Ultra Web Hosting gives January 2, 2027 for unpublishing its customers' sites. Before December 26 you can still run the Archive, download your account data from Account Settings > My Data > Download My Data, and move your domain. The notice asks Google Workspace customers to contact Weebly about moving that account directly to Google.
The Archive ZIP, in Weebly's words
Weebly documents the feature in Back Up Your Site:
- Open the site in the editor and go to Settings > General.
- Scroll to Archive, enter your email address and click Email Archive.
- Download the ZIP from the link in the email.
Weebly describes the file as an offline backup that you can keep or use to recreate the site at another host. Three limits come with it:
- Blog and store pages are left out, because, in Weebly's words, they rely directly on its database.
- Some elements may break outside the Weebly editor. Weebly names the Contact Form and Slideshow.
- It only goes one way. The file can't be imported back into Weebly, so it isn't a restore point.
That article doesn't list what's inside the ZIP or name a plan requirement, so open the archive and look before you rely on it.
For blog-heavy sites the gap is real. When a Weebly owner with about 100 posts asked on Square's community forum in January 2024 how to export them, a Square moderator answered that there were no great workarounds. Square's online team could email a CSV of every file uploaded to the account, but it wouldn't contain the text of the posts.
What else Weebly lets you export
Each row is a separate export, confirmed in Weebly's help articles in October 2026.
| What | How to get it | What stays behind |
|---|---|---|
| Site pages | Archive ZIP (above) | Blog and store pages; form and slideshow behavior |
| Account data | Account Settings > My Data > Download My Data | Contents aren't documented; inspect the file |
| Products | Items > Site Items > "..." > Export; the CSV link arrives by email | One row per option combination; the IMAGE column holds only the main image URL |
| Orders | Orders > Export Orders: all, since your last export, or a date range; CSV or QuickBooks .iif, by email | Checkout and payment processing |
| Form entries | Website > Overview > Form Entries, then Export | The forms themselves need a new form service |
| Mailing-list contacts | Marketing > Contacts > Mailing Lists, pick a list or All Contacts, then Export | Nothing documented |
| Members | No export documented; Weebly only describes adding members from a CSV | Logins, groups and member-only pages |
| Blog posts | No native export | Text, comments and categories (see the WordPress route below) |
| Domain | Transfer or repoint it (below) | Nothing, if you move it before closing the account |
Start the emailed exports early. In a February 2026 thread, a seller reported that the product export started but the email with the link never arrived, and the thread ended without a confirmed fix.
Square Online is a new site, not a conversion
Square points Weebly owners toward Square Online, so it helps to know what that move involves. The Weebly and Square FAQ says trying Square adds a new site to your account and leaves the Weebly site unchanged. Your pages don't convert:
- Instead of a theme and drag-and-drop elements, you build pages from customizable sections.
- The Square site editor isn't compatible with the Weebly App Center.
- There's no full blog. A Stories feature handles posts without comments, and an RSS feed section can display posts from elsewhere.
Products move most easily, through a spreadsheet. A Square site syncs with the Square item library, and Square's bulk import requires Item Name, Variation Name, Description and SKU columns. Weebly's CSV uses its own columns, such as OPTION NAME, OPTION VALUE and IMAGE, so expect to map them, and if your Square item library already holds items, export a copy before importing, as Square recommends.
Your domain
Bought somewhere else and never transferred to Weebly? Then it's pointed at Weebly with DNS records, as Weebly's external domain article describes. Replace those records at your registrar with the new host's values. Nothing needs transferring.
Bought through Weebly? You have two options:
- Keep it at Weebly and repoint it. Weebly's DNS records article says to ask your new host how to point your A records or CNAMEs rather than switching nameservers, because changing nameservers takes the site and any email connected to the domain offline. The domain then keeps renewing through your Weebly account, so this isn't an option in the 67 countries, where account access ends December 26.
- Transfer it. On the Domains page, open the domain, click Disable under Registrar Lock and copy the EPP code for your new registrar. A domain can't be transferred within 60 days of registration, changing the registrant's contact details starts a 60-day lock, and disabling the lock also switches off WHOIS privacy. Country-code domains such as .co.uk or .de go through Weebly support. Weebly's EPP code article covers each step.
Settle the domain before you close the account. Weebly's account article says deactivating cancels any paid services in the account and takes published sites offline.
Three routes off Weebly
1. Start from the ZIP
For a brochure site with no blog or store, the archive can be a starting point. Check what the ZIP actually holds, replace the contact form and any slideshows, and upload what works to a host. Anything Weebly left out has to come from the exports above or be rebuilt.
2. Turn the live pages into static HTML files
A capture saves what visitors see on the published site: layout, text, images and styles, including the blog posts and product pages that the ZIP skips. It can't bring anything that runs on Weebly's or Square's servers. Checkout, inventory and orders need Square or another commerce service. Contact forms need a form service. Member-only and password-protected pages can't be fetched, and App Center widgets may need replacing. It's also a snapshot, so later Weebly edits don't follow.
Weebly's URL scheme helps. Weebly says all pages on Weebly-hosted sites end with .html, so a static copy can keep the same file names. The catch is that Weebly answers with or without the extension, and static hosts each choose one form:
| Host | What happens to .html addresses |
|---|---|
| Weebly | /contact.html and /contact both open the page |
| Cloudflare Pages | /contact.html redirects to /contact |
| Vercel, default | Files keep their extension (cleanUrls is off) |
Vercel with cleanUrls: true |
Extension removed; the .html address gets a 308 redirect |
Pick one form, make canonical tags and internal links use it, and test the old addresses in both forms on the new host before you move the domain.
FNJ's Weebly to HTML converter does this capture from the site's public URL, without a Weebly login. The output can be downloaded, pushed into a GitHub repo of yours, or published straight to Cloudflare Pages or Vercel under your own account and token; FNJ doesn't run the hosting. If a site refuses automated capture, FNJ says so rather than handing over a half-working export. The Weebly export guide covers checking .html routes, forms and commerce on the new host.
3. Import into WordPress
WordPress's list of importers has no Weebly entry, but its WordPress importer reads WXR files, and WPBeginner runs a tool that writes one. The Weebly to WordPress Importer takes your site's URL and produces a WXR file with pages, blog posts, comments, categories and authors. In WordPress, go to Tools > Import, install and run the WordPress importer, upload the file, and check the box for "Download and import file attachments" so images land in the media library. Those images are fetched from your Weebly site during the import, so run it while the site is still published. WPBeginner's walkthrough also suggests adding .html to WordPress page URLs so they match the old addresses.
The tool doesn't list design or store data, so plan to rebuild the look with a theme and bring products in through WooCommerce's CSV import.
Other platforms offer less. Wix can't import blog posts from Weebly, which is still an open feature request. Shopify's migration guides cover Square, Wix, Squarespace and others but not Weebly, so a Weebly catalog reaches Shopify by CSV file or a migration app.
Keep your search rankings
Start with an inventory. Weebly creates a sitemap automatically at /sitemap.xml. Save a copy before you switch, and check your blog and product addresses yourself rather than assuming they follow the same .html pattern as pages.
Redirects have to live on the new host. Weebly's redirect tool only points old addresses at pages on your Weebly site, so it can't send visitors away. Keep the domain and paths where you can and add a 301 for everything that changes; the redirect map guide walks through drafting that list and checking each hop.
A site on a yoursite.weebly.com address is harder, because that address stays with Weebly. WPBeginner suggests a meta refresh in the Weebly site's header code. That one line sends every old page to your new home page rather than its match, and it only works while the Weebly site stays published, which isn't possible in the 67 countries. Google says it treats instant meta refresh redirects as permanent, though it recommends a server-side redirect whenever possible.
Before you cancel
- Run the Archive and Download My Data, then open both files.
- Export products, orders, form entries and contacts, and wait for every email.
- Save the sitemap and get the blog posts out, by WXR file or capture.
- Rebuild or capture the site, swapping in new forms, checkout and member areas.
- Set up redirects on the new host, then repoint or transfer the domain.
- Deactivate Weebly last, once nothing you still use, such as a domain kept there or a weebly.com redirect, depends on the account.
If the job is getting the public pages into files you control, FNJ handles that step and only that step. The store, members and form handling each need their own service, fed by the CSV files you exported (there is none for members).
Frequently asked questions
Can you download a Weebly website as HTML?
Weebly's Archive setting emails a ZIP copy of the site, but it leaves out blog and store pages, and Weebly warns that the Contact Form and Slideshow may not work outside its editor. To get every public page, posts included, you capture the published site with a converter or crawler. Neither route brings checkout, form handling or member logins.
Does the Weebly archive include my blog?
No. Weebly says blog and store pages aren't included because they rely directly on its database. To keep the posts, generate a WXR file with WPBeginner's Weebly to WordPress Importer, capture the public blog pages as HTML, or copy them by hand.
How do I move a Weebly site to WordPress?
WordPress has no Weebly importer of its own. While the Weebly site is still published, generate a WXR file from its URL at weeblytowp.com, then import it under Tools > Import > WordPress with file attachments enabled so the images come across. The design and store have to be rebuilt.
Can I move my Weebly site to Square Online?
Not as a conversion. Trying Square adds a separate site built from sections rather than Weebly themes, and App Center apps and blog comments don't carry over. Products can follow by exporting Weebly's CSV and importing it into the Square item library after mapping the columns.
What happens to my Weebly domain if I leave?
A domain registered through Weebly can stay there and point at your new host with A or CNAME records, as long as the Weebly account stays open, or move to another registrar with the EPP code once the Registrar Lock is off, though not within 60 days of registration. A domain bought elsewhere and never transferred to Weebly only needs new DNS records. If you plan to deactivate the account, transfer a Weebly-registered domain first, since deactivation cancels paid services.
Is Weebly shutting down?
Not everywhere. A Weebly FAQ from 2021 still says it has no plans to discontinue the site builder at this time, though it steers new sites to Square Online. For customers in 67 countries, including Singapore, the UAE and Turkey, Weebly's 2026 notice set September 27, 2026 for unpublishing sites and December 26, 2026 for the end of account access.
