Content writer portfolio website

A writing portfolio that organises your bylines

Editors and content leads want to know two things: do you know the topic, and can you write for their format. FNJ's AI builder designs a content writer portfolio that answers both, with bylines organised by topic, formats you write (articles, guides, case studies, newsletters), publications you've written for and a simple way to pitch or hire you.

  • Bylines by topic
  • Formats spelled out
  • Clean reading layout

What a content writer website needs

The sections the builder can design for you, and the job each one does. The starter prompt asks for these; add or drop any of them in your own words.

Starter prompt

A prompt written for content writers

It opens in the builder ready to edit. Replace the words in brackets with your own details, change anything else you like, then add a reference.

Reference to add

A newsletter, magazine or writer's site whose reading experience you like.

The builder takes a reference's look (layout, type, palette, spacing), never its words or images.

Build a content writer portfolio for [your name], a writer covering [B2B SaaS, personal finance and health]. Open with a short, friendly introduction and the topics I cover. Add a 'Bylines' section grouped by topic with linked article cards (headline, publication, date), a 'Formats' section (long-form guides, case studies, newsletters, ghostwriting), a publications list, a rates section and a 'Hire me' section with my email. Calm and editorial: a readable serif, a light paper-like background, generous line spacing and simple linked cards.

How it works

  1. 01

    Describe your content writer site

Open the builder with the starter prompt, fill in your details and add a screenshot or link of a site you'd like yours to look like. A reference is required: it's what makes the design yours rather than a template.

  2. 02

    Watch it design every page

The builder plans the pages, palette and type, then builds each page section by section on a canvas at desktop, tablet and phone widths while you watch.

  3. 03

Refine it, then take the code

Ask for changes in plain words or edit by hand, upload your own photos, then download a Next.js project or static HTML, or push it to your GitHub, and host it where you like.

What it costs: From $25/month, or $29 once for 50 credits that never expire. No FNJ hosting fee: you host the exported site. See plans

Content writers: questions

Can my portfolio pull in my articles automatically?
No. Add each byline as a linked card by prompt or by hand; the builder doesn't import from publications or RSS.
Can I host full articles on my site?
Yes, as pages within your plan's page limit (10 on the Site Pack, 20 on subscriptions). For a regularly updated blog, add one to the exported Next.js project or link to your newsletter.
Should I show my rates?
Many writers show starting rates to filter inquiries. The builder can design a rates section you edit or remove.
Can I add ghostwritten work?
Only what clients allow; describe the format and topic without naming them if you need to.
