Host a Framer site on AWS Amplify

To host a Framer site on AWS, convert it to HTML with FNJ and drop a zip of the files into the Amplify console's Deploy without Git option. Amplify is pay-as-you-go ($0.15 per GB served), and what's free depends on how old your AWS account is: the free allowance is time-limited, not permanent.

Convert your Framer site

Paste the published address. FNJ converts it from its public pages, so you don't share the Framer project, and you can preview the result before downloading it.

Example: https://your-site.framer.website

How to put it on AWS Amplify

  1. 1Convert and download

Paste your Framer site's address into FNJ, choose HTML, and download the site.

  2. 2Zip the contents, not the folder

Select the files inside the folder and zip those. A zip with the folder at its top gives an Access Denied error on Amplify.

  3. 3Deploy without Git

In the Amplify console, create an app with Deploy without Git, drop the zip, then add your domain; Amplify can provision the certificate.

Before you move

  • Manual zip deploys serve static sites only; server-rendered apps need a Git-connected Amplify app.
  • One thing doesn't move: both of FNJ's exports keep Framer's runtime, loaded from Framer's servers, so animations and interactions still come from Framer. Keep the Framer project published. If those files stopped loading, the pages and text would stay but the motion would stop.

FAQ

Is AWS Amplify free for a Framer site?

Only within the AWS Free Tier, which is time-limited and depends on when your account was created. After that it's pay-as-you-go, $0.15 per GB served, which is cheap for a small site but not zero.

Why does Amplify say Access Denied after I upload?

The zip has the folder at its top level. Zip the files inside the folder instead, so index.html sits at the root of the zip.
