Host a Framer site on GitHub Pages
You can host a Framer site on GitHub Pages by converting it to HTML with FNJ and committing the files to a public repository with Pages turned on. It's free, but GitHub says Pages is not allowed to be used as a free host to run an online business or e-commerce site, so it suits personal sites, portfolios and docs.
Convert your Framer site
Paste the published address. FNJ converts it from its public pages, so you don't share the Framer project, and you can preview the result before downloading it.
Example: https://your-site.framer.website
How to put it on GitHub Pages
- 1Convert and download
Paste your Framer site's address into FNJ, choose HTML, and download the site.
- 2Commit it to a repository
Create a public repository and add the files at its root, by git push or by uploading them in GitHub's web interface.
- 3Turn on Pages
In the repository's Settings → Pages, publish from the branch. Add a custom domain there; GitHub issues HTTPS after the DNS check.
What GitHub Pages gives you
| Free plan | GitHub Free (public repositories). Published site up to 1 GB. A soft bandwidth limit of 100 GB a month. A soft limit of 10 builds an hour. |
|---|---|
| Business use on the free plan | Not allowed for a business. GitHub: Pages is not intended for or allowed to be used as a free web-hosting service to run your online business, an e-commerce site, or a commercial SaaS. |
| Cheapest paid plan | Pages from a private repository needs a paid GitHub plan; Team is $4 per user a month. |
| From FNJ | Download the HTML, then: commit the files to a repository. |

Before you move
- Don't send passwords or payment details through a Pages site: GitHub says it shouldn't be used for sensitive transactions.
- One thing doesn't move: both of FNJ's exports keep Framer's runtime, loaded from Framer's servers, so animations and interactions still come from Framer. Keep the Framer project published. If those files stopped loading, the pages and text would stay but the motion would stop.
FAQ

Does the site have to be public?
On GitHub Free, the repository has to be public. Publishing Pages from a private repository needs a paid GitHub plan.
Will the Next.js export work on GitHub Pages?
